Eclectic Charango Beats was born in Brooklyn, New York and is the multicultural union of 6 musicians moved by an intense desire for musical exploration.
Andean music and cumbia are the sound engine of ECB, on which electric and acid elements are added to form an ancient and modern sound at the same time.
Led by the Colombian Composer and guitarist Sebastián González (Latin Grammy Nominee) , produced by Argentinian Sound Engineer Ignacio Lecumberri and mixed by the English producer Richard Blair (Peter Gabriel, Sidestepper, Toto La Monposina, Carlos Vives, Aterciopelados), ECB it’s leading it’s way to become one of the music revelations of the NY scene, having performed in venues like Our Wicked Lady, The Wild Goose, Barbes, D’ Antigua, Bar Chord, Hart Bar, Arlene’s Grocery, Bushwick Public House, Ulysses and One Art Space Gallery in Soho, just to name a few.
Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Brazil and USA come together to form Eclectic Charango Beats. The percussion section is composed of Colombian folk drums and percussion (“alegre” drum, maracon); the strings are on the bass, the electric guitar and of course the Charangos; finally the melodies are found in the voices and the soprano sax.
All of this results in a diverse and unique fusion of sounds, as well as the city in which it all began.
