Biografía

Reyli Barba Arrocha (April 12, 1972), mononymously known as Reyli, is a Mexican singer-songwriter from Pichucalco, Chiapas. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist for the alternative pop-rock band Elefante, which opened for the likes of Joaquín, Sabina, and Maná, and even represented Mexico at the Viña del Mar Festival in Chile. In 2003, Reyli left the band to pursue a solo career. Preceded by the chart-topping single "Desde Que Llegaste," his studio debut En la Luna appeared in 2004 and marked a significant departure from his previous work with Elefante, mainly focusing on Latin pop and romantic ballads. Other notable songs from the album include "La Descarada," featured in the soap opera Rubí, and "Sé Quién Soy," which was used as the official song for the Mexican version of Big Brother. In the following years, titles like Fe (2007), Qué Vueltas Da la Vida (2009), and Bien Acompañado (2011) established Reyli as one of the most in-demand songwriters in Mexican pop music and found him collaborating with several other artists like Pandora, Eugenia León, Alejandra Guzmán, and Claudia Brant. However, it was around this time that he decided to shy away from the spotlight in order to battle his substance abuse issues. In 2019, a newly-sober Reyli broke a three-year music hiatus with the release of the single "Todo lo Que Está Pasando Me Gusta," included in his fifth LP, La Metamorfosis.
