Yama - named after the Vedic God of Death - is a heavy stoner rock band from Tilburg, the Netherlands. Yama performed at the Roadburn festival, toured with Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats and shared the stage with bands like Saint Vitus, Graveyard and Acid Mothers Temple.
Yama's demo "Seaquake" received raving reviews from around the world and sold out so fast that US based label Mind Flare Media decided to release a second run. Numerous performances in The Netherlands and abroad followed, strengthening Yama's solid live reputation, culminating in a performance at the Roadburn Festival 2014.
In December 2014, Yama's debut album "Ananta" saw the light of life. Ananta, named after the primordial snake from the Rig Veda, has a distinct oriental theme while the music delivers heavy riffs and grooves fused into heavy and compact rock songs.
