Starting off as a songwriter and singer in several bands in the eighties, Tom Rose joined Frank Herbort, Markus Schillings, Oliver Bruder and Patrick Kalkuhl to form Route 46 in 1990. Local success and the album "every single day" followed in 1992. As well as a very fruitful relationship between Frank & Tom who started to write a lot of songs together, as they complemented each other very well.
Patrick Kalkuhl left the band before recordings started, Arndt Immekeppel joined the band afterwards. After differences how the band should evolve they split in the summer of 1994.
While all members of the band were in loose contact with each other, Frank & Tom didn´t exchange so much but a lone e-mail in 1998. With the exception of selective engagements Tom didn´t touch a lot of guitars from 1994 on. That changed in 2018 when friends reunited the post CD lineup without anyone really knowing about it. So Frank and Tom, drinking beer, rekindled their friendship and restarted songwriting more or less right away.
Since late 2018 a whole bunch of songs has been written and musical differences do not seem to be an issue anymore.
