The last time we heard from Laurence Hélie, she had taken Mirabelle as a nom de plume. Having released two celebrated Franco country-folk albums under her own name in the early 2010s, she abandoned music for several years. Inevitably, she returned—as Mirabelle. In 2020 she released Late Bloomer under that pseudonym, revealing a new version of herself, combining indie rock and folk with clearer vision and keener curiosity. Determined to find unexplored realms of her creative spirit, she followed up with the 2023 EP Flickering Lights. She then stepped back in order to take her next step forward: Reclaiming her own name, affirming who she is now, and quietly celebrating the path she has traveled. Her new album Tenderness and Kindness is expected in winter 2025. She has become Laurence Hélie again—as she was all along.
