Yoko Takahashi made her debut as a solo artist in 1991 with "P.S. I miss you", which won her her Best New Artist of the Year award in both the Japan Record Awards and the Japan Cable Awards. Her best known songs, "A Cruel Angel's Thesis", the theme song for "Neon Genesis Evangelion" released in 1995, and "Soul's Refrain", the theme song for "Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Movie Death & Rebirth" released in 1997, continues to do well to this day. This talented singer boasts a total of 1.75 million copies sold, 2.3 million downloads, and over 100 million streams throughout, for these two songs.
