"It's the insignificant story of an ordinary guy in a banal setting, in the middle of a gigantic anthill. A scene of everyday life. A snapshot of the land and its inhabitants. A portrait in love. A chemical reaction. A metaphysical quest. A plea for the silence of the night. A daydream. A melancholy. The sequence plan of an Ikea ad, or a masterpiece of the seventh art, which is seen from a distance through tiles."
Guillaume Galiana was born in the Val d'Oise in 1974, two days after Christmas.
At 18, he leaves the northern suburbs of Paris and moves to the Landes, with the firm intention of pursuing studies of English but ...
First guitar, first texts put to music, first amateur band and first prize of interpretation during a springboard organized on the side of Pau by the SMAC Ampli. He became singer-songwriter under the name of Guillo, and made his debut alongside Francis Lassus (drummer for Nougaro, Higelin). "The commonplace would like to have his suitcases put to the capital to become an artist. He will have done the opposite. "
In 2007, he was selected to take part in the 26th Rencontres d'Astaffort sponsored by Tété. He made the first parts of Francis Cabrel on the tour Des roses and nettles, then in curtain raising for Emily Loizeau, Juliette. On tour in Quebec, he meets Bernard Adamus, Anne Sylvestre, Allain Leprest and Pierre Lapointe, and
begins to feel on stage as at home.
"Go to the show for the first part at the Zenith, the next day under the roof of a barn. Walk for miles until the next step, meet some ephemeral friends, cross models. Live epic concerts, others to forceps. To do good and to do good to others. To attract attention, to subdue its ego. Satisfying this drive, this addiction to feel alive: a permanent balance between mastery and doubt, calm and storm. Accepting the electrical pulsations, particles in the air that only the heart perceives."
Super 8, his debut album, was released in 2013 (La Bonne Compagnie / Socadisc / Idol) and led him to play for three years throughout France and Switzerland : from the first parts of La Grande Sophie or Vincent Baguian to concerts He also participates in parallel projects such as La partie à 3 with Gérald Genty and
Askehoug, or the collective « J'y suis Toujours », from the meetings of Astaffort.
In 2016, with his manager Audrey Marty, Guillo creates « Five Seconds » : an associative structure that will produce his new album, Soulage, with the support of Sacem, the Adami and the help of the public. After a digital release, the eleven songs appear in bookshops in the form of a book-disk (I am not a long quiet river,
at LamaO editions). An intimate, musical, poetic work, including the album Soulage (CD / Mp3) and 30 minutes of Audio Bonus. Guillo recounts the origins of his songs, through an original narrative where he makes life speak: "I would look at each of his steps without judging, you would read through my eyes. I would tell you by what roads he passed, and you would listen to this story, as one listens to the sound of a river. "
