Based between Berlin and London, Minimal Schlager operate at the intersection between Italo-Disco, the darker corners of New Wave and various forgotten sounds picked up in the dive clubs of Berlin, a direct sweet spot directly between pure pop and haunting, Lynchian synth pop.
Having recently returned from performances at SXSW and shows in London, Paris and Berlin, the duo has announced their debut album Love, Sex & Dreams set to be released on 9th September 22 via Berlin's Duchess Box Records.
The album was recorded at Berlin's Impression Studio with producer Robbie Moore, who has also recently worked with the likes of Florence and the Machine
Minimal Schlager begun in 2020 during the pandemic and though they were only allowed to perform a handful of limited capacity shows decided to focus much of their energy writing and recording. After being approached by Duchess Box Records after a mutual friend had passed on some demos to them, they promptly offered an album deal but Minimal Schlager first went on to release their debut EP Voodoo Eyes which brought about some critical success in the international media.
