Jason Williams (born July 6, 1991), better known by the stage name OG Chess is an American Hip-Hop artist and producer/songwriter from Houston, TX and raised in Missouri City. The "OG" in Chess's name stands for "original" not an original gangster. Chess's unique auto tuned rapping and singing delivery is what connected him to a diverse sound. This allowed Chess to build a diverse fan base domestically and abroad reaching as far as France and Tokyo. OG Chess is signed to his own label Foreign Amerika Music Group. Staying furiously independent is what has allowed him to remain creative and grow organically as a respected artist in the music industry.
In his early career OG Chess was a former bandmate of Travis Scott of Cactus Jack Records and Kanye West Good Music by way of their duo "The Classmates" where they created their new age sound in the form of tapes "Buddy Rich" and "Cruis'n USA". Soon after the pair mysteriously parted ways. To further his imprint, Chess branched off and worked with A$AP Ferg Maxo Kream, Cardo, Rmb Justize, Vinny Cha$e, Rockie Fresh to spread the culture, influencing A$AP Ferg and many others through fashion. OG Chess collaborated with the A$AP Mob standout for the single Harlem to Texas. Switching gears, Chess teamed up with Manager Diego to take on a new energy which emerges in the New single LAX which released New Years.
