With her smokey and sultry vocals, singer-songwriter Kelly Prescott has released her new single “Leavin’ Her” .
“‘Leavin’ Her’ is one of my favourite songs I’ve written in the last year with my co-writer, Jason Mater,” Kelly explains. “It’s a fresh perspective on the classic cheating song. Everyone has wanted someone they can’t have at one point or another in their lives.” She adds, “It’s more polished than my previous records, but it’s still got that gritty feel. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
Currently working on her new music project expected to be announced later this year, “Leavin’ Her” is the follow-up to her second solo album, the critically acclaimed Hillbilly Jewels. Splitting her time between her hometown of Toronto and Music City, Prescott recently performed at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry with Terri Clark and her award-winning family. Having toured with Clark last year, she invited Prescott to sing with her parents Tracey Brown and Randall Prescott for the first time together on the famed stage. Celebrating a long lineage of a very musically inclined family, the third generation singer grew up in an award winning studio where she was able to hone her craft of songwriting.
