Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, better known (and more easily remembered) by his stage name Logic was brought up in a tough inner city district of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Both his parents were addicts and his brothers were drug dealers, not a promising start for a teenager. After being expelled from High School, Hall began to look for a purpose to his life and discovered it in hip-hop. Bizarrely, Hall cites Frank Sinatra as one of his major influences and titled his fourth mixtape 'Young Sinatra; Welcome to Forever' and although Ol' Blue Eyes might appear to be a strange bedfellow for a hip-hopping rap artist the influences and connection can definitely be detected in Logic's work. 'Young Sinatra; Welcome to Forever' clocked up 700,000 downloads on DatPiff and although the downloads were free the sheer volume of users brought Logic to the attention of fabled hip-hop label Def Jam and Hall signed a deal with them. 'Under Pressure', his debut studio album for the label, sold 70,000 copies in its first week entering Billboard's Hip-Hop/R&B chart at number 2. The follow up album 'The Incredible True Story' sold 135,000 copies in its first week underlining Logic's growing popularity as a hip-hop artist. Since leaving the projects Hall has become a clean living abstainer forgoing cigarettes, and drugs for the occasional glass of champagne. Artist biography compiled by BDS/West 10. All rights reserved
