Station 44 was formed in 2019 when friends Anouk Degrande and Simon Penard-Philippe decided to blend their musical influences together. Over the course of two years, they wrote, composed, and recorded ten songs, resulting in the band's first two EPs: Orange (2021) and Bleu (2022).
In 2021, the band enlisted keyboardist Justin Roche and drummer Mathurin Robart to collaborate on their live music arrangements. They developed their performances for over a year, which led to a richer,
more intense sound that still embraced electronic, indie-pop, and dub-inspired influences.
Station 44 live performances fuse pop music with alternative influences. Taking inspiration from the 90’s trip-hop spirit, the band invites to an intimate immersive experience that blends analog instruments, synthesizers, samples, and digital sounds.
In early 2023, Anouk Degrande left the band and they started creating new music, marking the start of a new era. They returned to the studio that summer, bringing their signature live sound to the upcoming album, set to release in 2024.
