Mako, being born and growing up on a small tropical island influenced by European, Caribbean and Latin American culture has given me the opportunity to discover many facets and nuances in music. From the influence of African rhythm used in the Curaçao sehu and tumba to Curaçao waltz influenced by Chopin. During my childhood I learned to appreciate different styles of music and discovered that music has a deep impact on emotions and mood. I have always used music to express myself.
