The Boston Garden was a great place to see a concert. Built at the cost of 4 million dollars in 1928 by the same people who built New York’s Madison Square Garden, it was originally called Boston’s Madison Square Garden. Eventually “Madison Square” was dropped from the name. It was a place of legends and legendary concerts. Pink Floyd live at The Garden, 18. June, 1975.  Most enjoyable are the performances of You Have Got To Be Crazy, which is different from both the 74 and 77 Dogs versions.  The set also has great version of Any Colour You Like and one of the last pre-87 performances of Echoes. Here’s the playlist

Hows your sleep? Mine could be better and its the inspiration for this edition of Brian Damage. Songs that mention sleep and dreaming and counting some Sheep in Prague. So, get in your comfy Pink Floyd pajamas, fluff up your favorite pillow and put your headphones on. Here’s the playlist, enjoy!

25/07/2025 • 126:08

This edition of Brain Damage is the perfect soundtrack to your lazy summer morning, midday, afternoon and night! It’s very similar to an older, podcast that fell victim to the takedown. So I’m resurrecting it somewhat. New and Improved, Grab some Pimms and kick your feet up and relax.  You deserve it!  This one’s for you! Here’s the playlist!

Get your raincoats, because you’ll need them. It’s been day after day of rain where I am, so heres another original from 2011. The flow went off in a different direction this time as I was “recreating” this podcast. Updated, new and improved… It’s one of my favorite themes.  ALSO your chance to WIN a vinyl and DVD copy of Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII! Listen for details!. Good luck and enjoy! Here’s the playlist

Hope you’ve been enjoying the last podcast. By now you probably feel like someone’s watching you. This was more of the difficult themed podcasts I’ve worked on. Feast your eyes on this, part two of The Eyes Have it!  Here’s the playlist. Test your lyric knowledge… Have fun with it!

25/04/2025 • 109:56

For this, it’s all about the eyes. Cold, wild, staring eyes seem to pop up all the time in Floyd’s lyrics. This is part 1 of 2, so if you don’t see something here, its probably in the next one. Here’s the playlist.

25/03/2025 • 124:26

While making the last podcast, I came across many names of places like countries, cities, and streets including rivers and bodies of water. So for this episode, it’s songs that mention a place or two or ten. Most but not all places mentioned in Floyd’s or solo works are included, so see how many you come up with. Here’s the playlist.

Welcome to the 20th year of Floydpodcast.com! We start the year off with songs that mention a name in the title. How many can you think of? See if their name is mentioned in the playlist. Enjoy and don’t forget to like, comment and spread the word!Dedicated to Michael Wiseman

I hope this finds you well. For this edition of Brain Damage, I give you the last of four nights at Empire Pool, London, 17 November 1974. Its a great recording but I did doctor it up a little bit. Thanks to Pink Floyd for allowing me to feature this. Here’s the playlist. This podcast also has the winner announcement for David’s deluxe LP boxed set of Luck and Strange. Enjoy!  Happy Chrismukka, Happy Kwanzaa and Happy New Year!

Counting down all the favorite Pink Floyd songs as voted by Arrow Classic Rock listeners.  Every year, “The Arrow”, a Dutch radio station, publishes a top 500 list of classic rock songs, and Pink Floyd is featured heavily in the run-down, with three songs in the top ten alone, including the coveted number one spot. This podcast is just the Pink Floyd tracks. Here’s the playlist. Don’t forget to tip the DJ, and leave a comment! Thank you!

25/11/2024 • 145:44

Here’s a suggested theme idea from a while back… Floyd songs with numbers in the title. This is an updated version of a previous episode that was taken down. Some strange things happen with numbers. Those with an interest in numerology should like this one. Here’s the playlist! Enjoy! Please don’t forget to donate if you do enjoy! Thank you!

Pink Floyd at The Golden Circle in Stockholm Sweden 1967. Photo by Fredrik Johansson For this episode, its the only full length 1967 concert recording. The gig occurred during Pink Floyd’s first tour outside of Great Britain in Stockholm Sweden, just about a month and half after the release of The Piper At The Gates of Dawn. In 2011 the recording surfaced and was replayed at the same venue. The recording then landed in the hands of Pink Floyd and later released on The Early Years box set. I’ve fixed it up a little bit and added in a bunch of other period gems.  Enjoy!  Here’s the playlist. The podcast needs your support! Please DONATE! Thank you.

Haven’t you heard? For this installment, we bring back our fine feathered friends. It’s amazing how many different birds are mentioned or heard in Pink Floyd’s music. There’s mention of an Albatross, Kingfisher, Swan, Pigeon, Dove, Sparrow and lots more. I present to you an ornithological podcast. Here’s the playlist! Please tell your friends about floydpodcast.com on Facebook and PLEASE donate.  Every bit helps to keep the website running and for me to keep doing what I do. It’s that time again! Feels like I posted the last podcast yesterday. Anyway, the animals have returned. It’s a refurbished menagerie all sectioned off in few groups with many dogs and a cat, sheep, fox, mole, rats, mice, rabbits, pigs, a bear, an elephant, and a humpback whale. Here’s the list of species featured in this episode. Enjoy but please don’t feed the animals, thank you!

Overall, Pink Floyd appeared in 51 festivals. This months edition scratches the surface of Pink Floyd’s festival appearances between 1968 and 1971. The bands festival circuit dwindled down to just 5 between 1972 and 1990 as their popularity and complex stage productions demanded larger venues and exclusive engagements. The podcast is enhanced with chapters to each festival featured. Enjoy and here’s the playlist.

If you’re on the run and want to listen to any of Pink Floyd’s BBC radio sessions, this podcast should serve you well. Here’s a fun one for you. There’s a hidden phrase in these prime cuts of floydness. See if you can find it. It’s fairly easy, right down to the letter, but here’s the playlist in case you get stuck. Enjoy!

Happy New Year! Welcome to Brain Damage, the definitive Pink Floyd radio show’s 19th year as a podcast, but originally started out as a terrestrial radio show at Tufts University 20 years ago! For this installment, it’s a doctor recommended and selected, compounded formulation of Floyd chill pills. Here’s the playlist. Medication time!

Here’s the latest and this time, a revisit… a spotlight on Pink Floyd’s first conceptual piece, The Man And The Journey. It was a pivotal time for Pink Floyd and you can clearly hear the direction they’re starting to go down, so I figured I’d dust this recording off a little. Someone released this one into the wild back in the late 90’s, but it wasn’t officially released until 2016. From the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, 17. September 1969. Here’s the playlist. Enjoy!

Last month on Thursday, 25th of May, Roger Waters performed the second of his two Prague concerts at O2 Arena. This one was special in that it was filmed and broadcast to 1,500 cinemas worldwide through Trafalgar Releasing. The sound is excellent but it did need a little fine tuning. Doctored for your enjoyment! Here’s the playlist.

Brain Damaged listener Diego of Argentina asked if I’d make a podcast focusing on Pink Floyd’s singles. Well, funny he should ask. Before Brain Damage – The definitive Pink Floyd radio show was a podcast, it was on terrestrial radio in the Boston area out of Tufts University’s WMFO. I managed to get 38 shows over the air but never recorded them for posterity. So, over the years, I’ve recreated some of those missing episodes. Singles was one of those shows. Enjoy!  Here’s the playlist!
