Now working on a new recording project, "Dreams Die Hard"
Scott’s musical journey began at the age of 11, when he got his first guitar. After 6 weeks of lessons, he formed a rock band with some neighborhood friends and in a very short time; they were performing classic rock tunes at teen dances in and around New Castle, PA, his childhood home town. This early exposure to performing for live audiences became the foundation of his lifelong passion for music. At the age of 17, he discovered a hidden talent for songwriting, while jamming with some folk artists in Indiana, where his family had relocated to. Within two years, he had composed enough material to strike out on his own as a solo performer, singing and playing in small coffee shops. During his college years, he began the study of jazz guitar, incorporating jazz elements into his songwriting. He formed several bands, and immersed himself into the vibrant music scene in Bloomington, Indiana, playing with many outstanding musicians. After graduating, he retired from band performance, and focused his efforts exclusively on songwriting. “I enjoyed playing in bands, and loved the thrill of interacting with a live audience, but I had become disillusioned with the business aspect of music” he says.
Several years later, he built a home recording studio and began recording some of the songs he had written over the years. He completed his first CD, “Blowing Smoke Rings In The Dark” in 2002. This was followed by “Audio Canvas” in 2004, “After The Tour” in 2008, and "Shopping For Garbage" in 2018. His musical style can best be described as “rock-folk”, incorporating elements of all the music that has influenced him. His songs feature intelligent lyrics, an expressive vocal style, some fine guitar playing, and humorous observations of the human condition.
Scott’s music is available at CD Baby, Apple ITunes, Rhapsody, Spotify, Amazon, and many other outlets. If you have a taste for something a little different, and enjoy good songwriting, check it out!
