Powerful, yet subtle, raw, but undoubtedly catchy, Empty Head cultivate the contrasts and hold both the visceral intensity of Seattle’s grunge and the bewitching fever of California’s desert rock. With their self-produced and self-titled debut EP, this young band from Liège, Belgium, deliver a cutthroat alternative rock inspired by the (anti-)heroes from the 90s and combine relevantly garage energy, raging guitar riffs and haunting melodies.
The resulting blatant firepower is then used by singer Simon Galloy as a support for his dark and intimate lyrics, which evoke topics such as dreams and delusion, introspection and the anxiety of the passage of time. These five long-time friends make a point of putting their hometown, Liège, on the map of the emerging alternative rock scenes.
Empty Head are Simon Galloy (lead vocals), the brothers Thomas (guitar / vocals) and François Michels (guitar), Benoit Thomé (bass / vocals) and Thibault Schouters (drums).
