Hey thanks for listening! My new album Past Lives is coming soon...
Eli is a critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter and internationally-touring musician, an entrepreneur, a mobile lifestyle pioneer, a community leader, a son, and a friend. He is a storytelling songwriter who brings to his work a universal spirituality informed by a variety of belief systems. Eli’s Jewish upbringing, his transformative experiences with Indigenous people, and his study of Buddhism shine through his uplifting songwriting.
With one foot in the traditions of conscious folk music and another foot in modern pop production, Eli stands firmly on his own ground. His earnest, enlightened, and invigorating folk-pop has garnered favorable comparisons to Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, Noah Kahan, Jack Johnson, and John Denver.
Eli grew up in the diverse suburb of Silver Spring, Maryland where a blending of incongruous backgrounds made an indelible impact on his pan-culture perspective. He would go on to explore other countries and cultures through teaching eighth grade English on a reservation in the Northern Arizona town of Shonto, and later working and living in Andorra and Israel. Along the way, Eli earned his Master’s Degree in English Education from Bloomington, Indiana.
Immersing himself in the Indigenous culture and its community while teaching English on the Navajo Nation, Eli felt a call to dedicate his professional life to service. Yet, it would be years later when his path became clear while on a two-week solo beach retreat to Sayulita, Mexico with just his guitar. There, Eli had something of a spiritual awakening.
“I sang my songs to the oceans, the waves, the sky, the trees, and they all started listening. It felt like a personal ceremony,” Eli recalls. “I looked back on my life and realized how blessed I’ve been. I decided to give myself as a vessel to a higher power as a thank you, and I asked to be guided to my full potential.”
Since then, Eli’s releases have earned critical praise and coverage from esteemed media outlets such as American Songwriter, Paste Magazine, WFMZ Channel 69 News, WGRT 102.3 FM, KAMR,
CBS Radio, NPR, and The Bluegrass Situation. In 2019, Eli Lev won multiple industry awards for his work. His second album, Way Out West, won a Washington Area Music Award (WAMMIE) for “Best Country/Americana album,” while his single “Chasing Daylight,” won a grand prize in the SAW Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Competition. In 2021, he won another WAMMIE for “Best Pop Artist” in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. In addition, Eli’s album True North peaked at #8 on the FAI Folk Charts, and the album Walk.Talk.Dance.Sing. was a top 100 album of the year on NACC in 2022
Eli is the creator and founder of the Levitators, an international fan community numbering 5,000 members worldwide. Eli is actively engaged with his fans and followers through social media, emails, texts, and his Folk Friday livestream series which has been a consistent weekly program since 2020.
Present Journey is an exhilarating collection of musings on middle age.“Imagine how many people chasing youth need to hear this,” Eli says. On the euphoric pop Americana of “Love In The Middle Ages,” above a taut beat and crisply strummed folk guitars, Eli reflects on the humble beauty of finding love late in life. This new series furthers Eli’s tradition of thematic projects, dating back to 2021’s Four Directions, and continuing with 2022’s pandemic mixtape EP, Walk.Talk.Dance.Sing.
Up next, you can follow Eli’s adventures on his socials where he will be posting tour dates for this year and beyond. Eli, who averages over 250 shows annually, was named one of Bandsintown’s Top 100 artists. In 2025, Eli will be expanding his base throughout North America and Europe. Eli says: “My end goal is to share my music and create a worldwide community of people who have open hearts and want to see a positive change in themselves, their relationships, and the world at large.”
With the announcement of his next release, ‘Past Lives’, Eli bridges the space between memory and melody, using the actual voices of his ancestors to illuminate the stories that shaped him—and, by extension, all of us. Past Lives will be released gradually—one song every three weeks starting June 25, 2025, with the full album available on October 8, 2025. Lev will celebrate the release with a special hometown concert on October 3rd, 2025 at Blue House Productions in Kensington, Maryland, followed by a Northeast U.S. tour throughout October.
