"Burnin' is almost here!"
As one of the late, great Prince’s personal DJs, Larry Peace learned a few key lessons: finding the balance between following your heart, taking risks, and giving the people what they want. All of these occurred at a key moment when Larry’s former boss stood ten feet away from him observing Peace working a packed dance floor. In awe, Larry mistakenly played a song that killed the energy on the dance floor and he never recovered. At the following gig, he found himself standing face to face with his former employer (and musical hero) who requested a replay of his set from the previous party: a mix of all Prince music spun on vinyl. Peace had THE validation he needed with that request and a chance at redemption. He executed a flawless set that night.
Fast forward to the present day and Larry Peace is holding his own as an artist, DJ, and producer in the house music community. After years of pavement pounding, his hard work is paying off. Peace’s jackin’ house, filtered disco sound is spreading internationally consisting of remixes for a lengthy roster of talent which includes Dark Intensity, Luca Debonaire, Lee Dagger (Bimbo Jones), Thelma Houston, KC & The Sunshine Band to name a few. In addition to solo releases on house labels Whitebeard Records (Chicago), Plastik People Recordings (UK), Smashing Trax, and his own imprint Supa Qween Records.
His versatile mix sets can currently be heard via his Haus of Peace Livestream and podcasts. Sometime this year, he hopes to return to the clubs and tour. Kicking off the new year with the feel-good singles Your Love (Feels So Good) and Dancing & Dancing (Whitebeard Records), the forthcoming Plastik People Recordings (UK) release Burnin’, additional singles and remixes signed, and a few upcoming releases from his record label, Larry Peace is trying to set 2021 on fire.
