Levan Lomidze (Didactic Scalica) – producer and promoter from Georgia. Founder and ideologist of the label Datenbits Recordings. The organizer of Deep Components, the series of night events, and also the radio show. Known under the nick name Didactic Scalica, the project definitely and consciously flavoured with a portion of Deep.
In 2001 he established Detect project and recorded an EP named Electronic Materials.
In 2003 he participated in Moscow project Fashion Suicide, which got very popular among synthetic pop music fans thanks to its original sound and extraordinary live shows.
In 2007 Levan took a great interest in music production modern technologies and developed his own project Didactic Scalica. Continuing sound experiments, he completely reoriented to a new techno-house music.
In 2008 he founded techno label Datenbits Recordings. Within a short period of time, a great number of techno musicians and DJs checked in the label. Together with a promo group Love & Kindness and Denis Melody organised deep house and techno events in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. At the same time, Minimal Maze and Deep Components events were being held in Moscow clubs.
Moreover, in cooperation with DJ Tomm-T (Sergey Sentyakov) from St. Petersburg Levan launched Deep Components radio broadcasts.
Having moved to Latvia in 2013, Levan started actively participating as a DJ in techno events of major Riga promoters.
Levan kept on production activities, but due to disputes with Datenbits distributor, a new label Encased Records appeared in 2016. The concept of a new label goes a bit further towards experimental sound.
Currently, Levan is working his magic on new music, with the domination of atmospheric sound, deepening into dub, deep techno.
