Moroccan musician Hicham Billouch seeks to explore new musical avenues and possibilities.
Billouch studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Marrakech and graduated as a piano performer. He also plays violin, oud, guitar and guembri.
When he was a teenager he started working in cabarets such as Hotel Sahara Inn, Rotana and VIP club in Marrakech and Hotel Semiramis in Casa Blanca. In Morocco he played for singers such as Ahmed Adawiyya of Egypt, Fares Karam of Lebanon and Mohamed Reda, Pinhas and Badr Sultan of Morocco.
He also participated in Mauazin Festival organized by the Government of Morocco and worked in the organization of music events such as the Green March Festival.
In France he played with Maqam al Ushaq, a Moorish music group, in the Mediterranean Music Festival of Corsica and the International University Music Festival in Ville de Belfort, France.
In Mexico he created Nour Marruecos, an Arab music band, with local musicians. Nour Marruecos has participated in international festivals such as Lerdantino (Durango), Festiva Toluca and Calimaya (State of Mexico) and the Feria Internacional del Libro de Córdoba (Veracruz). He also played at Adonis, a Lebanese restaurant located in the upscale neighborhood of Polanco. In Mexico City he organized a belly dance contest also published a book with the translation into Spanish of 40 well-known Arab songs.
He has released 3 CDs: Salam, Qamar and Kalimat, with covers of famous Arab songs and his own compositions.
He has launched 4 CDs with covers and his won compositions. The latest one, Best Belly Dance Music, is available in digital platforms such as iTunes, Shazam, Spotify, Amazon music, Anghami, etc.
