McDead is a Sonic Archaeologist from Colchester (UK) making alternative and experimental music in Melbourne, Australia. A nomadic songwriter and accidental producer, McDead’s evocative neo-psychedelic songs are usually built around drones, various guitars, and folk influences. Analogue percussion is fused with Electronic beats, with samples and inspiration drawn from deep archival research and a hard-won PhD in Archaeology. McDead is driven by a fierce imagination and a profound sense of history. Psychedelic rock, Krautrock, post-punk and big beat electronic influences are clear, alongside very loose musical boundaries resulting in vivid and unique sound design. The first McDead album is out now on digital and on heavyweight vinyl (180 grams, Zenith Records), recorded at Plastic Jungle Records, produced by the legendary Will Casserly, and epically mastered by Erik Scerba in Melbourne Australia.
