Joey & Dany are a Bachata duo born and raised in New Jersey formed by Joel Hernandez (Joey) and Jordany Jimenez (Dany) in the year 2020. Both have multiple influences attributed to being raised in the USA’s multicultural atmosphere, from Hip Hop & R&B all the way down to Afrobeats & Rock. Regardless of these influences, they have never strayed too far from their Dominican roots. Having both being born within musical families, they have been involved in the Bachata genre from a very young age. Their fathers in particular played a significant role in their interest in the genre of Bachata, Joey's father being a Musician/Singer and Dany’s father being a founding member of the very popular 2000’s Bachata group “Nueva Era”. It was only natural after growing up, that the two got involved with the new up and coming Bachata scene. Joey started his musical career at a young age working with bachata artists such as Xtreme, Toby Love, 24 horas, Kewin Cosmos, and even Bachata legend Luis Vargas. Dany has also worked with bachata artists like Karlos Rose, and NYC bachata artist, Optimo. The duo will continue to work together in hopes of keeping the genre alive.
