Omega Massif were a German post-metal band from Würzburg, founded in 2005 by guitarists Andreas Schmittfull and Michael Melchers. They included Boris Bilic on bass and Christof Rath on drums, and initially released the demo Kalt (2006) independently before signing with Radar Swarm Records for their debut album, Geisterstadt (2007). This release garnered critical acclaim. Their subsequent releases included split albums with Mount Logan and Tephra, and they performed as an opening act for Long Distance Calling, Wolves in the Throne Room, and Baroness. Their second studio album, Karpatia (2011), was released by Denovali Records. They performed at major festivals such as Doom Shall Rise, Roadburn Festival, and Hellfest. They announced their dissolution in 2014 via Facebook, with members going on to form Phantom Winter, Cranial, and Blacksmoker.
