American singer/songwriter A$H. performs genre-blending synth-pop and urban music, infused with 80’s nostalgia.
Opening for Grammy award winning artist PJ Morton of pop group Maroon 5 for 20 shows of his highly acclaimed Gumbo Tour fall 2017, A$H. was exposed to a new audience, gaining a plethora of new fans.
Born in Oklahoma City, A$H. began singing and writing music at a very young age. After her parents’ divorce and a move to Cleveland, OH, she was involved in short lived girl groups which served as the foundation to her writing and performing future.
An exceptional student, A$H. won many academic awards, enjoyed track and field and was accepted into Spelman College on scholarship where she also became a member of The Spelman College Glee Club and Jazz Ensemble. In December of 2008, she traveled as the lead vocalist of an ensemble that toured Italy over the Christmas Holiday. A$H. graduated from Spelman College with a B.A. in Theatre.
A$H. began her solo career in 2010. After several performances around the city of Atlanta, she was recommended to Grammy nominated singer Janelle Monae as a potential background vocalist for her upcoming tours. Quickly hired, A$H. toured with the singer for 6 years. That journey provided a history of notable performances alongside the Grammy nominated singer at The White House, on Good Morning America, on a plethora of late night shows such as Letterman and Fallon, Coachella, Essence Music Fest, SNL, Black Girls Rock, the 18th Annual Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony, and many many others. That opportunity also landed her the honor of performing on stage with musical icons, Stevie Wonder and the late Prince Rogers Nelson.
A$H. resumed her solo career in February of 2015 by releasing “The Perfect EP,” independently, which charted on the iTunes pop charts on its release day. ”The Perfect EP” continues to have countless positive reviews and support from all over. In fact, VIBE magazine premiered her very first video for her song ‘Anyway.”
In 2016, A$H. made the top 10 cut on Kelly Rowland’s docu-series, “Chasing Destiny” on BET. After the show wrapped, she released her second EP, ‘The Please Like Me EP,’ which lead to an east coast Living Room tour, taking the music into eclectic homes to connect intimately with her fans. This success was coupled with numerous requests of the budding star to perform at notable events such as opening for Grammy nominated singer and super producer Ryan Leslie at Atlanta’s CenterStage, The Revival hosted by hit producer Bryan-Michael Cox and the Atlanta Dogwood Festival.
Named TVONE’s number one artist to look out for in 2017, her two independent releases, ‘The Please Like Me EP’ and ‘The Perfect EP’ were so impactful that they amassed features in over 50 publications, including Clash Mag UK, Galore, Saint Heron, Perez Hilton, Blavity, Essence, Soulbounce, VIBE, BET, PYNK, and Hello Beautiful, just to name a few.
In August of 2018, A$H., released single “I Got the Moves.” which is currently in the radio waves in Israel and Mexico City, and finding its way on several pop playlists. November of 2018, A$H. released her single “EASY,” which in addition to US support has found a fanbase in Japan. Also in November of 2018, A$H.’s song “Dear Dream” from ‘The Perfect EP’ made its movie debut in “Jinn” which featured in several select theatres across the US.
A$H.’s debut album “It’s Just Art “ released on March 22, 2019, charted #4 on the iTunes R&B charts. This success is slowly proving that her artistry has mainstream appeal and is making its wave into the ears and hearts of new fans.
