When writing lyrics, inspiration pours from the everyday, tapping into both his personal life and the human condition, using spontaneity and intuitive creativity. Baker also surrounds himself with inspiring and stimulating artists, notably recording and playing alongside technicians and musicians who have collaborated with Madonna, Sting, Jamiroquai and R.E.M.
Bastian Baker has already been duly rewarded many times and has been internationally recognized by performing as opening acts for Shania Twain on her 2019 tour all around the world, Bryan Adams, Johnny Hallyday. He was also invited to participate as a coach in “The Voice Belgium”.
In 12 years, he has performed 2000 concerts in more than 50 countries, on 5 continents, at prestigious festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival (CH), Summer Sonic (JP), Francofolies (FR) and renowned venues such as l’Olympia in Paris, Blue Note in Tokyo, Hallenstadion in Zurich and Jamsil Arena in Seoul.
This hyperactive still manages to give himself more challenge. Especially after almost two years of touring with the Swiss National Circus KNIE throughout Switzerland (2021/2022) which he is also the very first musician to headline it. Baker will have participated in more than 500 shows, during which he rode a horse, chained choreographies and aerial numbers, and above all an interpreter during each performance, several of his Hits. He also had fun lending his voice to dub the French and German version for Switzerland, France, Belgium and Germany territories of the villainous character “Jean Clawed” in the animated film “Minions, The Rise of Gru” (2022).
