Wiener Tschuschenkapelle is an ethno, Balkan, and world music band founded in Vienna in 1989 by Slavko Ninić. Their repertoire features traditional music from the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and Austria. Their self-titled 1989 debut album featured the traditional songs "Moj dilbere" and "Bolen leži mlad Stojan", and was followed by the album Wr. Tschuschenkapelle ("die Schwarze") in 1990. In 2001, they released the live album ... und davon, which won the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik in the Ethno/World category. They collaborated with notable figures such as Willi Resetarits and Gerhard Blaboll, and performed at the Vienna State Opera with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Their 2018 album Die Patriotische showcased Austrian music exclusively, fulfilling a long-held wish of Slavko Ninić. They toured extensively in countries like Zimbabwe, Morocco, Tunisia, Brazil, Canada, the USA, and throughout Europe.
