Asphalt Ballet was an American rock band formed in San Diego, California. The group consisted of vocalist Gary Jeffries, bassist Terry Phillips, drummer Mikki Kiner, and guitarists Danny Clarke and Julius J. Ulrich. Their style blended blues rock with elements of hard rock and Southern rock. In 1991, Virgin Records signed the band and released their self-titled debut album Asphalt Ballet. The following year, they achieved a notable milestone when their video for "Soul Survive" won Headbangers Ball. However, Jeffries left the band in 1992 due to personal issues. Tommy Dean took over lead vocals for their second album Pigs, released in April 1993.
