Ole Mathisen, born February 13, 1965, in Sandefjord, Norway, is a musician known for his saxophone and clarinet playing. He earned a bachelor's degree from Berklee College of Music in 1988 and a master's in Jazz Performance from Manhattan School of Music in 1995. Mathisen has collaborated with notable artists such as Paula Cole, Louie Vega, and Dream Theater. He released albums including Chinese Horoscope (2007) and Periodic Table (2010). Mathisen was a regular member of Chris Washburne's Latin jazz band SYOTOS Band and led the orchestra Anomaly. He has also received the Phil Woods Incentive Award (1984) and multiple Ascaplus Awards.
