Blind Willies, an American folk rock band based in San Francisco, California, was founded by singer-songwriter Alexei Wajchman while he was a student at San Francisco School of the Arts in 2002. The group initially began as a duo with guitarist Wajchman and fiddler Annie Staninec, playing covers of American folk songs before transitioning to Wajchman's original compositions. In 2007, Blind Willies released their first professional album, The Unkindness of Ravens, which received notable praise from KQED and the online music zine DOA. The duo disbanded in 2008 after releasing their second album, Everybody’s Looking for a Meal. In 2011, Blind Willies reformed with new members and released Needle Feather and a Rope, and their fourth album, Every Day is Judgment Day, followed in July 2014. The band embarked on their first European tour in August 2013, covering Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
