Cardiant, a Finnish power metal band, was established in Hämeenlinna in 2000. In their early years, the group recorded several demos before signing with Underground Symphony and releasing their debut album, Midday Moon, in 2005. The record was initially released only in Japan by Marquee/Avalon due to distribution issues in Europe. Cardiant underwent significant lineup changes, including the addition of lead vocalist Erik Karhatsu in 2008. Their second album, Tomorrow's Daylight, followed in 2009 and was also released exclusively in Japan, with online sales available elsewhere. The band gained notable recognition by qualifying for the semi-finals of the Finnish national selection for Eurovision 2011 with the song "Rapture in Time" and later advancing to the finals. Subsequent album releases include Verge in 2013 and Mirrors in 2017.
