Giovanna Nocetti, known mononymously as Giovanna, and born on March 10, 1945, in Viareggio, Italy, is a singer and record producer. She began playing the guitar during high school and moved to Milan to pursue a music career after abandoning her university studies. In 1967, she signed with Meazzi Records and released her debut single "Ricordi notturni" (1967). Giovanna gained recognition in 1970 through the RAI musical show Settevoci and achieved her first hit with "Io non volevo dimenticare". Her first album, Una corsa pazza, was released in 1971. In the late 1970s, she transitioned to Ri-Fi Records and scored a major hit with "Il mio ex", co-written by Paolo Limiti and Roberto Carlos. Giovanna founded her own label, Kicco Records, in 1982.
