Thomas DeCarlo was born on 23 April 1965 in Utica, New York. He joined the rock band Boston in 2008 as lead vocalist after Brad Delp’s death, performing on the album Life, Love & Hope (2013) and touring the United States and Canada. In 2012 he released the holiday single "I Can't Wait 'Til Christmas Day". In 2020 the band DeCarlo, including his son Tommy DeCarlo Jr., issued the album Lightning Strikes Twice. He signed a solo deal with Frontiers Records in 2022 and released the album Dancing in the Moonlight the same year. Tommy DeCarlo was diagnosed with brain cancer in September 2025 and died in Charlotte, North Carolina, on 9 March 2026.
