Athenia (Athenia Cortés Valera, b. 2002) is an independent producer and songwriter of Electro Techno, Trap, and Phonk music. Of Mexican roots and born in the United States, she currently develops her project from Mexico, focusing on a sound she defines as a blend of opposite poles: soft yet intense. Her interest in music did not stem from a search for recognition, but from the need to express her art and share it with those who connect with her sonic vision.
Her journey formally began in 2019, the year she released her first track titled "Vibes." However, prior to this debut, she had already dedicated time to developing production and music theory skills in a self-taught manner, creating her own working methods. After several years of independent learning and constant evolution, in 2024 she took a significant step by joining a group of Mexican producers, a space that has allowed her to collaborate and continue professionalizing her sound within the local scene.
Throughout her career, Athenia has maintained a profile centered on creation, collaborating with other emerging artists such as Zinnia, Ditroheart, The Remaining Six, and Sylvessä. Her music avoids being flashy for the sake of it and concentrates on the duality of her rhythms, always seeking that balance between calmness and the technical energy of the urban and electronic genres she produces.
