The Siren Tower, a rock band from Perth, Australia, was formed in 2008 by Grant McCulloch and Brody Simpson. The duo initially focused on acoustic material, incorporating elements of folk, country, and roots genres. Their debut release, a double A-side single featuring "Letter From The Edge of the Earth" and "The Bridgehouse", was launched in 2009. In 2011, they released their first album, A History of Houses, which included the singles "Floods", nominated for WAM Song of the Year, and "The Banishing of William McGuiness". The band's lineup evolved over time, with Mark McEwen joining on guitar in 2009. A History of Houses was released through Firestarter Distribution in June 2012.
