Meike Koester, born in Braunschweig, Germany, is a singer and songwriter. She began writing her own songs at a young age and started performing live with self-accompaniment on the guitar in 1991. Her debut album Angel was released in 1998 under her independent label Eve's Apple music production. Koester's second album, Soap for Dirty Girls, followed in 2002, and her third album, Live Love Travel Free, was released in 2005. In 2011, she released Seefahrerherz, which featured German lyrics for the first time and won Best German-Language CD Album at the German Rock & Pop Awards. The title track "Seefahrerherz" reached number 3 on the German song charts and remained in the top 20 for seven months. This success led to a radio concert with Michy Reincke broadcasted on mdrKultur and Deutschlandfunk. Koester's fifth studio album, Wieder laut, was released in 2024 and nominated for the German Record Critics' Award.
