Ian North was an American singer, guitarist, and producer who was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1952. He achieved early professional recognition in 1973 as the founder of the power pop ensemble Milk 'N' Cookies and is famous for his influence on the New York punk scene and for his solo career utilizing early synthesizer technology. Following the dissolution of Milk 'N' Cookies, he relocated to England and formed the band Radio, which eventually became Neo. His discography includes the solo recording Neo (1979), followed by the studio recording My Girlfriend's Dead (1980) and the EP Rape of the Orchids (1982). North also released the singles “Hollywood Babylon” (1980), “Pretty Pretty” (1984), and “Techno-Kill” (1989). In 2009, he released the studio recording E Z Listening for Suicides under the moniker Darkjet. North died in 2021.
