Pure Shores (Marlene and Ji Nilsson) became friends in 2009 and bonded over the lack of good dance floors in Stockholm. Back then there were only a few clubs playing rnb music and they would call each other as soon as their favorite DJ was playing and go out dancing together. Based on their mutual understanding and love for the same type of music they started writing together in 2012 and have been inseparable ever since.
In 2019 Ji and Marlene formed Pure Shores, a songwriter/producer team and a duo releasing dance music. They released their first single ”Rushing” in June 2019, which has been on high rotation on Swedish national radio P3 all summer, and got picked as ”Song of The Week” by the music editors. Their second single "You Don't Wanna Know" was released in October.
They’ve been working with artists such as Giorgio Moroder Moroder, Silvana Imam, Marina & The Diamonds, Girls’ Generation, Zikai, Eva Dahlgren, Don Diablo and more. The duo is currently in the studio writing for other artists and working on Marlene’s next album.
