Garth Stevenson, born on September 17, 1982 in Kelowna, British Columbia, is a Canadian double bass player and film composer. He studied at the Berklee College of Music, collaborating with musicians such as Bob Moses and Joe Lovano. After graduating, Stevenson moved to New York City and became active in the improvisational and experimental music scenes, forming the trio ZAQ with Marcin Masecki and Ziv Ravitz. His debut solo album, Alpine, was released in 2009. He has collaborated with artists including Sonya Kitchell and John Shannon, and contributed to films such as Tracks (2013) and Chappaquiddick (2018). Stevenson has performed at major festivals and appeared on television shows, including David Letterman. He continues to reside in New York City, actively contributing to music and film.
