Yumi Matsuzawa, born 松澤 由美 on March 29, 1974, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, is a Japanese singer known for her contributions to J-pop music. Her career began with the release of "You Get To Burning" in October 1996, which served as the opening theme for the anime series Martian Successor Nadesico. This debut single marked a significant breakthrough, establishing Matsuzawa's presence in the anime song (Anison) genre. Throughout her career, Matsuzawa released several notable albums and singles. Her first album, あしあと, was released in February 2007, commemorating a decade of her musical journey. In 2018, she celebrated her 20th anniversary with the album YUMI MATSUZAWA 20th Anniversary Album 「永遠のSEED」. Notable songs include "Dearest", which was featured in the film adaptation of Martian Successor Nadesico, and "Chikyuugi" from the anime series Saint Seiya Hades: Chapter - Sanctuary, both of which received significant acclaim. Matsuzawa also contributed to various other anime projects, including Gate Keepers and Summon Night 4. In addition to her musical achievements, she has been a jury member for the Animax Anison Grand Prix alongside Ichirō Mizuki and Mitsuko Horie.
