Necrophorus was a musical project by Peter Andersson, a composer known for his work across ambient, noise, industrial, electronic, and experimental genres. Born on March 20, 1973, in Boxholm, Sweden, Andersson's interest in electronic music began with Kraftwerk albums from his brother's collection. He started recording sounds from various sources such as industries, boats, and fans to use in his compositions. In 1991, he formed the dark ambient project Raison d'être, blending synthesizers, Gregorian chants, and industrial sounds. The project released its first album, Après nous le Déluge, in 1992. Throughout his career, Andersson released numerous albums under various projects, including Stratvm Terror and Necrophorus. Notable releases include Prospectus I, Within the Depths of Silence and Phormations, and The Empty Hollow Unfolds. His work often explored themes related to Tibetan Buddhism and meditation.
