Ponte Perro is the stage name of Argentine singer and RKT artist Mario Emmanuel De Los Santos, who was born in the late 1990s in the working-class neighborhood of Santa Isabel in Mariano Acosta and grew up between there and Ituzaingó in the western outskirts of Buenos Aires, where he first connected with music while working as a barber and cutting hair for local artists such as L-Gante. After a fire destroyed the house he shared with his partner and children in Merlo, he decided to pursue music full-time, turning to the cumbia-inflected RKT sound that reflected his own barrio experience. Ponte Perro released his first singles in 2022, including “Mi Santo,” inspired by his relationship with his late father, and “El Malandraje” with R Jota, which introduced his mix of melodic hooks and street-level storytelling. In 2023 he consolidated his profile with the single “Te Parto RKT,” released through GOAT Records, and a series of collaborations that circulated heavily on social media. The year 2024 marked a major milestone when the German platform COLORSxSTUDIOS invited him to record “Mi Santo” for its A COLORS SHOW series, making him the first artist from the cumbia/RKT scene to appear there, while he continued releasing singles such as “Gafita y Chomba,” “Solari RKT,” “Gitano” and “Yo Argento.” In early 2025 he issued his debut studio album JOGO BONITO, recorded in Brazil and built around a fusion of RKT and Brazilian funk, and later that year he brought the project to a wider audience with a debut performance at Lollapalooza Argentina and a new run of singles, including “Rabito,” “A Puro Blu (Perreo Malandraje)” with El Shura and the football-referencing track “ALTO JUGADOR,” which became one of Ponte Perro’s best-known songs.
