Ilan Amores (born January 21, 1992, in Buenos Aires, raised in Misiones) first built his musical foundation as a bassist in the Argentine punk band Argies—touring extensively across European venues—before shifting to a solo career as Chico Chico around 2019. His debut album Chico Chico (2019) fused the melancholic “cumbia rebajada” of Monterrey with Argentine cumbia villera, laying the groundwork for his poetic, emotionally charged songwriting. The follow-up Buenos Aires (2020) continued his DIY ethos and was followed by a two‑part project in 2022: the albums Borí Borí 1 and Borí Borí 2, which solidified his presence on the indie scene and featured standout singles like “Va Ser,” “Los Polenta,” and deeply personal tracks shared via FM Igualdad – EP. In 2023, he broke into broader recognition with the single “Tiro Tiro” with Damas Gratis and “Los Prohibidos” featuring Stiffy, while Caballo Negro (2024) boasted a more polished sound, offering lush compositions such as “Bar La Perla,” “Mentiroso,” and “Morir de Amor" featuring KUN EL PRINCIPE.
