Apollo Up! was an American post-punk and indie band formed in late 2002 in Nashville, Tennessee by singer/guitarist Jay Leo Phillips, bassist Mike Shepherd, and drummer Jereme Frey. Their music drew comparisons to acts like Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and Fugazi. Apollo Up! released their first full-length album, Light the End and Burn It Through, under Theory 8 Records in 2004, which was followed by their second album, Chariots of Fire, in 2006. Apollo Up! performed locally and toured extensively, including a notable appearance at Cincinnati's Desdemona Festival in 2006. Their final release was Walking Papers in May 2008. The band also disbanded in 2008.
