Stereotyperider began their career as a pop-punk band incorporating significant amounts of post-hardcore and indie influences. Their debut album, Fair Weather Fan, was released in 1999. They toured the United States with acts such as The Suicide Machines and Big Wig. In 2003, Stereotyperider won the award for Best Indie Group at the Arizona Ska Punk Awards Ceremony. Their subsequent albums included Same Chords, Same Songs, Same Six Strings (2002), Under the Influence, Vol. 1 (2004), Prolonging the Inevitable (2004), and Songs in the Key of F and U (2009). The band disbanded on June 27, 2009, after playing their final show at the Yucca Tap Room in Tempe, Arizona.
