Stanford Prison Experiment, an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California, was active between 1990 and 2002. Its members included Mario Jiménez on vocals, Mike Starkey on guitars, Davey Latter on drums, and George Kennedy on bass. Rob Cummings and Mark Fraser joined the band as bassists in 1992 and 1993, respectively. The group's name references the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment conducted by psychologist Philip Zimbardo in 1971. Their early releases included "Take It" (1993) and "Mr. Teacher Dad" (1994), which gained them initial traction. The band released their debut album, Stanford Prison Experiment, in 1993 under World Domination Records, followed by The Gato Hunch in 1995. Their third album, Wrecreation, was released in 1998 under Island Records. Notable singles include "Super Monkey" and "Compete".
