Guillotina, a Mexican grunge and alternative rock band formed in Mexico in 1992, consisted of Manuel Suárez on vocals and guitar, Alejandro Charpenell on drums, El Manco on bass, and Jorge Vilchis on guitar. The group emerged from the dissolution of Signos Vitales, with Guillotina signing to Warner Music and Discos Rockotitlán in 1993. Their debut album, Guillotina, produced by Jack Endino, was released in early 1994, leading to extensive tours across Mexico, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. In 1996, they released their second album, Rock Mata Pop. Following Jorge Vilchis' departure, Aram Hernández joined the band that same year. Guillotina's third album, Mientras el resto sigue, was released in 1998 under Sum Records. Subsequent albums include erRe O Ce Ka (2000), Provocando al Personal (2002), Volumen (2004), and Dispara (2007). Guillotina disbanded in June 2011 due to irreconcilable differences among the members.
