Yoichiro Yoshikawa was a Japanese composer, music arranger, and film producer. Born in Sakaide, Kagawa Prefecture, he began playing the piano at a very young age. While studying at the University of Tsukuba, he was introduced to the Butoh dance group Sankai Juku, for which he later served as an artistic director of music for over 35 years. In 1986, he became one of the directors of Sankai Juku. His signature work includes the music for the 1987 NHK documentary series The Miracle Planet, whose main theme won an international prize at the 1992 JASRAC Awards. Yoshikawa composed and produced music for numerous television programs and animated series, including Kyo Kara Maoh! (2004), and collaborated with artists such as Jun Togawa and Agnes Chan.
