Juan Cecilia Ruiz, known professionally as Cecilio G, was born on March 14, 1994, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, and began his artistic career as a rap singer. After studying comics, illustration and design, he entered the graffiti and freestyle scene at fourteen under the nickname Punky Negro, quickly becoming a pioneer of Spanish trap. His breakthrough came with the 2018 single "From Darkness With Love", followed by the mixtape Milion Dollar Baby (2019) whose title track surpassed 5 million YouTube views in 2025. Subsequent releases include La Bestia del Mambo (2020), OPUS SERENUM (2025‑10‑23) and Dear Alabama (2025‑12‑12), featuring collaborations with artists such as Dora Black and Mala Rodríguez.
