Eljay was born in Nashville, Tennessee he grew up in the projects with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He is the 2nd youngest of 7 and was raised by his mom until he moved to Virginia when he was 13 to live with his grandfather. He eventually met other artists by networking. Eljay wanted more for the city of Petersburg music scene by opening up a recording studio to scout and network with the exceptional talent the city had to offer. In 2012 he was a member of Foreva 100, a rap group out of Petersburg, VA. In 2013 Foreva 100 merged with Lil City Boiz Entertainment. His first mixtape titled “The Takeover” was released in January of 2018. In 2022 Eljay took a break from music after his first mixtape to focus on his family. He plans to make a comeback in 2024.
