Graham Francis "Smacka" Fitzgibbon, born on February 12, 1930, in Mordialloc, Victoria, Australia, was a vocalist and banjoist known for his contributions to the trad jazz genre. He began playing ukulele at an early age before switching to the banjo, influenced by artists such as Bing Crosby, Al Bowlly, and Louis Armstrong. Fitzgibbon's music career started in 1951 when he joined "Frank Johnson’s Fabulous Dixielanders," leading to the formation of his own band, "The Steamboat Stompers." His first recording was Frisco Joe's Good Time Boys (1953). He recorded for the Fable label and contributed to theme songs for VFL clubs. His single "The Adventures of Barry McKenzie" reached number 22 on Go-Set's Australian Singles Chart in 1972. Fitzgibbon passed away on December 15, 1979, at the age of 49 due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
